What is the pain body?

The pain body is a concept introduced by author and spiritual teacher, Eckhart Tolle. It refers to an accumulation of negative emotions and pain that individuals carry with them and which can be triggered by certain events or situations. These painful emotions can include anger, fear, shame, sadness, jealousy, and more, and they are linked to past experiences and traumas. The pain body can become activated and take over an individual's thoughts and emotions, leading to irrational behavior and unhappiness. By becoming aware of the pain body and learning to detach from it, individuals can begin to heal and move towards peace and contentment.
